Clapper,

Have not heard of anything formal but there is a very interesting Polish Restaurant a short distance away in Cross Village.

Also Moose Jaw Junction is fairly close and always fun.

Tim, I've been to Legg'sInn many times. I have always loved Bigos. And of course Golumpki.
My lovely and I used to take the MGA up M-119 around Oct 10th or so every year. We honeymooned in Bayview. That was before kids and practicality intervened. My Fiat 850 Spider made a couple laps through there as well as I think about it. Never knew if we'd make it back or not.

I'm just making sure that I don't miss a chance to visit with fellow travelers and enjoy the weekend. It's a long way to go to sit in a hotel room.

Out there doing it best I can.

Clapper,

Just received the below from one of the organizers.

Guessing there will not be much time for setting in a motel room. They also have a nice club house with room to sit and discuss the important things in life, like SxSs and grouse hunting. smile

Hoping for great weather.

We do not have anything formal Friday night. We do have 3 restaurants that are sponsoring stations and they would like a group from our shoot to frequent their restaurant.

The Fish - Great food at a local restaurant just south of the club.

Legs Inn - Great Polish food and a destination in Northern Michigan. North of the club in Cross Village.

Moose Jaw Junction - Local restaurant that has a great Friday night fish fry. It is very popular and all the locals love it... There will be a wait.

Feel free to copy this and send it our post it on the blog site.

Well Tim, I am going to have to miss that group of misfits from the UP ! My ankle is not coming along as planned and I have a solid no from the "home front" (yeah Dr and PT said same thing but they are easy to ignore then the home front)! So I will be there next year if someone "upstairs" allows it. Damn, I was looking forward to this shoot and the other this weekend in MI. Surgery sucks.....! Eric

Eric,

Pay attention to the "boss." She usually knows best.

Quite sure planning is for the Tunnel of Trees to be an annual event.

I used to do the Tunnel Of Trees bicycle ride out of the Birchwood Inn twice a year with my wife. M-119 is beautiful that time of year. I'm planning on being up at a cottage near Mackinaw that we rent every year. Does anyone know if non shooters can stop by and peruse the vendor tents? I'd like to stop by on Saturday with my wife and have a look around.
Eis, I hope the ankle heals up in time for the hunting season. Just give me a call!

Karl,

Was told everyone is welcome to view the Vendors Tents.

Also there is open shooting on Friday for both registered shooters and non-registered shooters.

Karl,

Just heard back from one of the organizers.

5 stand, trap, and skeet are available as side events for registered and non registered all weekend. So bring your shotgun if you have time (SxSs only on Sat and Sun). Also crazy quail may be available on Sunday but is part of the event (pigeon ring) on Saturday.

Tim,
Thanks for the response, it's great to know. I plan on stopping by on Friday with camera and "gun funds" in tow.
The Merkel will tag along!
