Another vote for the NID. Model 21s are nice, but overpriced.

I agree. The NID has to be a strong design, Ithaca used it for the Magnum 10 bore, after John Olin approached them with a request to build a side-by-side for his new "Roman Candle" waterfowling long range load. If Olin had the Model 21 underway, and one of such was picked at random from warehouse inventory for the 2000 "blue pill" proof testing, why didn't the WRA design team come up with a 10 gauge 3.5" chambered Model 21? Just wondering.

You can buy three, four or five NIDs for the price of one 21. You might wear one out before you'd wear out the 21 but not two. So you have two to three pristine NIDs left to pass on. Better yet I can carry one nid a lot easier than one 21 and in hunting I do more walking than shooting. I like the Nids and consider them to be a great value.

It's still breaking clays.

I don't know much about the NID because I've never owned one, so I can't make comment there. But I do own several Winchester Model 21's and I like all of them. Target crushers and game getters, for sure.

If this was true, you would be the absolute best Jag, because they don't come much simpler than you. I keep wondering about your commentary here since you don't even own a double gun. Since your only shotgun is a short barreled Ithaca Model 37 pump, you may be in the wrong forum. Do you actually own the Ithaca, or do you rent it like you do with your other guns?

Lonesome, this went right over Jag's head. No surprise there, but I enjoyed it. Talk about your low-information voters. I wonder if he rents his Beanie Babies too.

Looking at Guns International, it seems like NID prices are all over the map, some as high as $20,000 plus, others as low as $500, the guns priced at $500 in the minority. The 'Classic Doubles' later versions are very expensive. There are some guns cheaper than 21's, but not all that many.

I can't get excited over either one. I'd rather have a picture of a Philadelphia Fox than a 21 or a NID. wink
