Here is the latest old double to follow me home. It seems to be in good mechanical condition. The numbers all match. There are problems with the wood that needs attention. The forend screw holes are stripped - an easy repair. The buttstock has a little play in it. I'll have to take it apart to see what's been done and what needs to be done before I shoot it.

The toe of the buttstock has been replaced by wood filler. I noticed a little wood filler here and there that fill dings. It shows of an old refinish job. No blueing or color case left to salvage.

Long range, I don't know if I'll love it as it is or if I'll want to restock it with nice wood and get gun reblued.
