Yeesh. That's scary. Look what we have to look forward to. A thousand years of paying extortion money to the Germans.

Meant tongue in cheek Canvasback but strangely true. If you think about it the U.S. is my neighbour too with just a strip of water between.
Ted, the reason you never got the Destroyers back is because we paid you for them in full. Britain paid back its Lend Lease debts to the U.S. with the last payments in 2007 and post war loans were paid back the following year. Lagopus..... My response was meant tongue in cheek as well. But, food for thought, just think where you would be had Barry the stoner been president at that time, instead of now. My late Father's family donated a surplus Remington 03 and a Smith and Wesson .38 caliber revolver, along with a small amount of ammuntion for both, to a weapons for England drive in late 1939 or 1940. They never asked for them back, or to be paid for them. Best, Ted

I'd say after the events of the past two days the confidence in the American judicial system is probably at it lowest point since the advent of Prohibition. This "decision" is right up there with the results of the O J Simpson murder trial for bizarre conclusions. I'd also have to agree with the Wall Street journal reporter Stevens that the decision not to indict by the head of the FBI was a political one pure and simple. I, and I think I can speak for most responsible Americans, are disgusted. Jim

What else could it be but political? It's all political. Administration of justice, the laws, appointments, are political, even the Supreme Court.

No tongue in cheek here, I'm dead serious. The Duck would have been grilling snitzel (Dumkoff! I said sourkraut, not relish!) and pouring schnapps for 'ol Uncle Adolph if it wasn't for us Yanks. Least you could do is TAKE New Jersey! ____________________________ I'm maaaad! I'm maaaaad! https://youtu.be/QATSbEK5muQ

For a little bit, the fellow sounded like he had some law enforcement background, then came the punchline. Politicians will always be politicians, but they aren't all equal. I'd ask who are supposed to vet and question, but? I suppose if someone were more offended by the mention of 47, rather than the gal's resume, I doubt we'd get much beyond the brush off that they're just be'in political.

Maybe I'm a residual idealist but I don't have the crass view of our Justice system as a K Brown. The courts are supposed to be blind to everything other than justice. I'm beginning to believe we need another revolution if our Country in order to restore some sense of balance and sweep aside all the rottenness we are seeing and scum like the Clintons are at the core of it. World War 2 was a lot more serious than to be summed up by the statement, 'Wasn't for us Yanks."
Both FDR and Churchill and to a lesser extent Stalin knew what the Germans were doing and developing and all were convinced that the future of the planet was involved and not just individual countries. Real scary stuff. Please stop watching episodes of "Band of Brothers" and read a frickin book.
