Yah I know about no grouse in the south. And, presumably those in Miss know grouse are up north. Why not just title this 'Heads up-For you grouse hunters". Why add the word yankee? Let's change the subject line 'Heads Up-for you Rebel quail hunters". Does any one really think that wouldn't elicit a reply from some in the deep south?

I'm one of those "damn yankees". The one that came down and never left. A few ya'lls, fixin to's and a pair of Luccheses and I assimilated quite well. Didn't loose anything in NY I need to go back for. Going to make a trip to Maine in Oct. though, to try and kill a Pah'tridge or 2 with my cousin. Yup, got me one of them there Maine licenses straight off of that interweb.

At some point earlier in this thread, somebody asked about getting a Vt out of state license? If you were born before a certain year or can prove you had a license from your home state, then you can get a Vt license. Online, with a credit card. Now, as to where are the partridges? No idea. Ducks is my thing.

I gotta' believe life would be a whole lot more difficult for me if I took offense at being called a Yankee. Even though I'm pretty sure Mr Roberts simply used the word to define that gun's intended use. Tough to be a genuine non-yankee, and have huntable ruffed grouse sport, locally, anyway.
