I think the point is that if you have two "restored" Parkers, one with del Grego or Turnbull proof is worth more than most no-name restorations. Original is better, but Turnbull is better than an unknown restoration and much preferable (to me) than a complete beater Parker.

I'm surprised that Good did not recommend Lander.

Ed,

I woild appreciate it if you would explain to me what you mean by that. ???

An added thought is that it is not the name, but the quality of the work. Regardless pf who did it.

A Larry del Grego re-do was something most Parker guys did not want, and still don't. Walk right past them at gun shows because they stood out like a new gate, especially the incorrect case coloring. Del Grego repair work was, and still is, quite good.

A Doug Turnbull restoration is hard to discern from the original, and sometimes only because you know there just aren't that many 100% Parkers around. But I would own his work without second thought.

Dale Tate in California brought my circa 1900 20 ga back to life:

I wanted it to be good mechanically, not restored. My brothers and I put those dents and barb wire cuts into the wood and they are where they belong.

Ed, you're the one who accused him of having "inordinate ambition" on a public forum. Do as he says and PUT UP OR SHUT UP.
