He said it was slightly off face, sounded like it was more due to not closing right rather that the standing breach being off. The normal wear on a couple parts made the closed position off and he was saying how repeated use in that condition would make it get worse and worse and turn into a larger job so he wanted to take care of it before it got worse. He spent the time blacking and than filing the extractors, the under lever bolt (it was a little proud of the action flats), and a smidgen on one side of the action flats. So certainly not a full job, but I did not expect any work to be done during an inspection only! He charged $100 CAD for the inspection, and said a full back on face job would be about $400 CAD.

I can't comment specifically on the double rifle, but I own a custom bolt gun built by Nick and the quality is superb. Dealing with Nick was top notch. I didn't commission the original build, but bought the gun at auction. Nick was very helpful in providing me the details on the build and background on the gun. Nick has also repaired a Scottish double of mine. I was very happy with the results. As others have mentioned, Nick was formally trained in UK (Midland, maybe?)
