George Leonard Herter: Date of birth 1911. This was rather a surprise to me as we always figured he had to have been at least a hundred years old in 1960.
Goodness I miss that annual catalog. The man had to be another PT Barnham.

They had a brand new store across from the Olympia brewery along I-5 in Wa. state in the mid 1970's.
The rumor was when they closed they had gotten into trouble with the feds over jungle cock and other feather they sold for fly tying.
I can find no reference to Herter's store before 1960.
The one thing you could dead sure say about the Man, He was an original!
