Thanks for the heads up on Numrich,
I called Numrich on Friday, I was informed that these hammers they're selling are from old Ithaca stock, not something produced recently.
They said there is no left or right, same hammer for either side.
I ordered two, and I expect to see them tomorrow.
This 3E does have cocking indicators and what you stated about the reasons Ithaca did away with cocking indicators went through my mind Walt. After disassembling the gun, there was maybe a spot or two of rust, not bad, but had it sat awhile, it very well may have been worse.
Any thoughts on why this hammer would have failed? Dry firing?
