Herter's was a cool place. I actually drove from Chicago to Beaver Dam when I heard the original store was closing. I have lots of Herter decoys and assorted other Herters equipment. Never had a Herters gun though. That would be interesting.
Always wanted a original G&H rifle for the same reason. They were THE outfitter store to go to if you were traveling overseas to hunt in the first half of the 20th century in my opinion.
If you were a duck hunter, Herters was your store during the same period. My grandfather had Herters decoys that we hunted over and I still hunt over the same ones.
