It must drive those in the trade nuts when things change and guns start failing more often than expected. We do not have proof houses here so do not have this issues to deal with. I do not consider tieing a gun to a tire and firing strong loads to be a bubba proof system but someone pretending to know what they are doing and making claims based on what they think it means.
I still remember the Clark 20 double which failed within a single box of shells after just passing proof. So even proof passed guns are not bullet proof.
