Tom,

I do appreciate all those articles and the hours of hard work that went into preparing them. Don't mind Francis. He should be called Runs At The Mouth. You hit the nail on the head. Anyone who enjoys finding mistakes in articles should be required to write one of his own. That would end the nonsense.

The only thing that comes to mind from your description is the following image.

This is a straight hand stock with a horn or ebony block fitted ( probably attached through the trigger guard as described earlier ) which is shaped to create something like a pistol grip.

Holy cow, Demonwolf. Is that thing ever ugly, or what? It reminds me of one of 'Hellboys' horns sprouting out of a SxS. The old metal fabricated ones like seen on very old muzzle loaders look attractive in comparison, imho.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, Last Dollar. What appears fabulous and beautiful to you may well appear hideous and ugly to me, as it appears to be the case here. Yeah, Hellboy's sprouted horn on this gun looks hideous to me, and if you have ever seen the movie, Hellboy habitually took a grinder to his to try to get rid of them. Haha.

It's a movie. Fictional character played by Ron Perlman. Google 'Hellboy'. Pretty good movie. Hellboy is a superhero.

I have seen the gun with the added pistol grip that Tom described, and liked both the look and the functionality of the added piece. If they were available today, I would buy a couple to go on my straight stocked LC Smith 2E and my straight stocked M21 Trap Grade,as well as my Mod 1897 straight stocked Trap Grade. I have owned a number of straight stocked guns, and shot them well enough, but on a 12 gauge gun, I prefer the better control of recoil that a full or half pistol grip gives me.
The pistol grip accessory that Tom described was well made, and finely checkered, and made of some black material that looked like hard rubber or gutta percha.
