Batch is the way to go. One container with multiple trophy's to a chosen US Port is how most African Trophy's are moving now. CITES treaty is so complicated importers & brokers are picking ports with experienced inspectors they have a relationship with in order to avoid problems. & the inspector is working with somebody he knows is not trying to beat the system.
East Coast They all like Baltimore as a POE.

That double rifle thread is a interesting one, details some of the pitfalls and what can be done.
Thing to consider is the customs officer has broad authority, he can say it's ok stamp and you are out the door. Or he can refer to the commodity specialist for clarification. It makes a difference were the port of entry is as well as the ultimate destination. Customs is supposed to honor state regulations, if arriving New York going to New Jersey one thing. Container with firearms arriving in bond in Texas going to Texas quite another.

John personal firearm antique and non Antique 1999. Company is a major carrier moving thousands. We don't own the guns transporting them only.

Things move much faster with the eforms system. I applied for 5 permits in the last few weeks, 3 of which were approved in less than 1 week, one took 2 weeks and the final permit just under 3 weeks. Much better than the old days of mailing things in and waiting 3 months.

Just got back all the approved forms from ATF this morning. Now waiting for the UK side to get things in place. Hope to have things in hand in the next few weeks.

SKB, those turnaround times on the US ATF6 forms is outstanding and welcomed news for anyone thinking about importing. Although it has been a couple of years since I submitted an ATF6 Form, I have waited 3 or 4 months on them in the past.
In the UK, in the past, I have found that Harry Gordon can get the paperwork in the UK done quickly. Harry is mentioned several times in the double rifle section which I linked at the top of this page.
