The article is interesting and while I have no sympathy for King's politics, much less his second amendment positions, he has had an interesting life and I am sure I could enjoy a conversation on doubleguns and a meal with him.
I truly believe we should argue on facts and principles and avoid personal attacks when possible. There is a reason I was taught when young to avoid politics and religion in social settings whenever possible.

I can't imagine how boring life would be if I only talked to, listened to, or read people that thought 100% like me.

....People should join a politics forum if they want to wax philosophic on their ideology. Actually, if one were on some generic political forum, how'd they ever read the facts about how a fellow 'shooter' waxes philosophic on a double gun forum?

I don't know how they would ever read the "facts" craig. Although I am sure that there would be a debate about who has the proper facts, same as with the doubelgun forum. I do know I couldn't care less. So if your concerned about making sure they get the "right" facts about a fellow shooter waxing philosophic on a double gun forum, take the brave step and join a political forum and regale them with your adventures here.

If this is the philosophical jousting ken was speaking of, someone please jab my eyes out with a punji stick.
I would have gone with Engels over Lenin. That was one fun loving commie.

Family and friendship, harmonious and productive relationships, high standards of human values, pursuit of happiness without intruding carelessly on the happiness of others are worth more than any gun to me. Guns fit nicely but they're not everything. Plenty of guys here have managed to cultivate family and friendship, harmonious and productive relationships, high standards of human values, and pursuit of happiness without repeatedly undermining and denigrating the 2nd Amendment, or the NRA. We have also managed to do it without pretending to be supporters of gun rights, and without supporting and defending the most extreme anti-gun politicians on the planet. Save for a very few like Ken61 and canvasback, I could have told you which posters would flock to support King just by seeing their name or handle. Some, like the coward nca225, are also anti-gun trolls who ardently support the anti-gun politicians who are continually working to erode or eliminate our rights. He also repeatedly posted vile, filthy, disgusting comments about my daughters here, escalating a dust-up between us to all time lows. Almost everyone who saw it condemned it. But King Brown, a man with three daughters of his own, and a man who frequently was critical of Mitt Romney and Republicans as being misogynist, was the only one who felt I should forgive the slimy coward. It is easy to see why they are the most desperate to not have the crap they posted in Misfires resurface. Then there are the hopeless hypocrites like Last Dollar who acts like he is without sin even though he posted ethnic slurs and vulgarity like this shortly before his all too brief departure: He's throwing ilks about again..These guys are never done, they are always off on some tirade and continue to preach to the choir. Who does this wop think he is convincing? FYI: I wont watch the Superbowl today. Who the F**K is Soro? Another Kenyan?? Our gun rights will be overthrown during the Superbowl? OMIGOD, what next...??? I know! Space invaders, The same ones that killed Kennedy! If Replacement or Larry Clown ever said anything nice about me, I'd feel that I was a complete failure. Fin-2-Feather, Clapper Zapper, SKB... there's three guaranteed votes for Hillary in spite of her promises to enact new gun laws, ban classes of firearms, legalize damaging lawsuits against the firearms industry, and fight the NRA. Buy hey, let's get this thing back on topic! Here's the old anti-gunner once again spouting his same ridiculous nonsense claiming that the Individual Right to Keep and Bear Arms is a relatively new thing and a perversion of the anti-gun notion that it is a collective right held within a defunct Militia: King Brown post 433281 from "Trump on the Second Amendment" main forum 1/18/2016 Ed, historically the individual "right" to bear arms is relatively new. I believe John Ashcroft in 2002 became the first federal attorney-general to proclaim that individuals should be able to own guns. The Supreme Court in 2008 overturned all mainstream legal and historical scholarship by ruling that there is an individual right to own firearms although with some limits. Obama said it again last week.
I believe that during the previous 218 years the Second meant what it said: firearms shall be held by "the People"---a collective and not individual right---insofar they are in the service of "a well-regulated militia." Was an individual right even mentioned at the Constitutional Convention or in the House when it ratified the Amendment or when debated in state legislatures? I don't think so. King's little brother Larry Clown has told us he will fight to the death to defend King's right to say these things, and he will do the same for Ed or John Kerry. But me... oh no. He wants to shut me up, and has even cried like a baby to Dave attempting to do so. Civility my ass. Dishonesty ain't civility.
Voting for anti-gun Democrats is dumber than giving treats to a dog that shits on a Persian Rug

Just a couple of observations as I see them. Forgive me is they are a little all over the map.....
Americans have a right to their opinions and beliefs. This includes politics and religion. One of the big problems with the left right now, is the fact that they have truly gone off the rails and are trying to silence all who do not agree with them. Political correctness is no longer a joke. It is destroying our right to free speech. We have always had left-wing lunatics in our midst. The problem is, they have never had this much power and control before.
I agree very little with what Bernie Sanders has to say. But I must admit, his campaign has been a breath of fresh air, and I wish he really had a chance to stop Hillary. We should honor the fact that all are heard. Agree with them or not. Even though he is an un-apologetic socialist, at least he doesn't try to destroy or shame the opposition with endless labels like Clinton and her cronies do. The best salesman believe in their product. Right or wrong, Bernie believes in what he is trying to sell.
Second, a man receives his name from his parents. I share the same as my Father, whose first name came from his Uncle who died far too young. There is nothing wrong with being proud of it.
I have never met the main players in this discussion. I would not know them if I saw them on the street. What makes our country what it is, is the fact that we can agree to disagree in a civil manner. Sadly, this is rapidly disappearing.
The only thing I will say that may be viewed as negative, is I'm not sure someone who is not an American citizen, and does not live here really has any say, opinion or influence on what our firearms rights should or should not be. I feel the same way regarding Obama sticking his nose into the British question regarding the EU. I was also embarrassed by his usual "community organizer/agitator" speech that he gave to the group of young Britons.
Rather than writing and working to diminish our rights, perhaps time and effort should be spent worrying about Canada, who will soon be embroiled in the same crisis and problems our friends in France, Belgium, Germany and the UK are facing.
Have a great Sunday.

Why a committed communist anti-gun person is even permitted to post here is beyond me. Jim Nor should Muslim sympathizers....like Larry the Clown.

My opinion is that I would like to see Misfires back .......... With a tighter rein from the moderator on it AND the general forum.
SRH Worked fine until a Texas idiOt lost his mind and kept re-posting the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over and over........... ........ .......
