Buturlin composed his table partly on the basis of laboratory test data which were held at the TOZ (Tula arms plant)before WWI.

According to Buturlin`s data

Russian rifle steel: C 0,42-0,55 Mn 0,5-0,7 Si 0,2-0,3
Krupp special 0,61 - 0,65 - 0,434
Boehler "Antinit" 0,177 - 0,49 - 0,299 plus Ni 8,51
"Poldi Anticorro" 0,145 - 0,5 - 0,45 plus Ni 7,78

Regards,

Igor
