Middletown and several small towns on the way to the beach are real speed traps. Go from 55-45-35-30-25 mile per hour in a mile. Stay at 25 for a mile or so and then go back up in speed. Their idea of break is to not charge you more for not paying in cash. High IQ are not needed to run a speed trap. Your fellow proved that.

The gun was stolen. The seller knew it was stolen when he purchased it. He told me straight out. Which answered the question I had been asking myself at the time. "How come he drags this thing around for years with no takers?" The gun was in decent condition and the price was at market. But I have no desire to see him or anyone else profit from it. I am glad I did it. At the moment I am trying to settle a price on a nicely engraved Colt 1883.

This was Smryma town cop. Staties are generally a decent bunch but a couple of those with a mean streak also out of the barracks in Odessa. Beautiful old town though.

Avoid the towns with dale at the end at I recall. Evendale was one of the worst years ago. Father in-law lived in Lewis DE before the Real Estate market went crazy there. Bought his house for 100+K sold for just below 500K 8-9 years later. He improved it by maybe another 50K. Wish my investments went up that much as a rule. Market seemed to have bottomed out later after he sold. By now I am sure it is on the upswing again.

I think Evendale is where a friend got a 28 mph ticket in a 25 zone but it might have been a 20 zone. Fifty or sixty dollars way back when. Real racket they were running.

Maybe Ellendale? Leipsic and Little Creek north of Dover have occasionally been known for their greetings at the town sign. First staters also have that peculiar lack of a front plate which makes the old about face bust popular out of state.. So first he turns around to see whether you're local and missing the plate and then he discovers you're perfectly legal but what the hey, 52 in a 50 should be good for 13$.
