2016 Vintage Gunners Cup World Side-by-Side Championship & Exhibition Set for September 23 � 25, 2016 at Hopkins Game Farm in Kennedyville, Maryland

The Vintage Gunners, official and legal successor to The Vintagers: Order of Edwardian Gunners, announces that the 2016 Vintage Gunners Cup and World Side-by-Side Championship and Exhibition will be held September 23 � 25, 2016 at Hopkins Game Farm in Kennedyville Maryland. This year's Vintage Gunners Cup will be the Eighteenth edition of the World Side-by-Side Championship & Exhibition scheduled on its traditional weekend in September.

The format will be similar to past Vintage Cups with shotgun side events on Friday and Saturday and the main event on Sunday. Side events(hammerless and hammergun) will be held in all gauges from 10 through .410. In addition special events such as an American Classics competition, one and two-shooter team flurry events, a ladies two-woman team event, and a black powder competition will also be held.

Following its grand tradition of hosting one of the finest sporting arms exhibitions, tents will be set up to house the booths in which gun dealers and related vendors will display their merchandise.

Shooters will find accommodations and fine dining in nearby Chestertown, Maryland just 10 minutes from the venue.

Plans are to add the Double Rifle, Drilling and Cape Gun events back in next year.

Cutting in on the already scheduled Northern SxS Challenge and Expo to be held September 22-25, 2016, at Rock Mountain Sporting Clays, which includes the Fox - Parker Challenge.

The Vintage Gunners sincerely regret any scheduling conflicts. There are so many shoots nowadays that it is almost impossible to avoid them. The Vintage Gunners Cup was just scheduled for the same weekend in September we have had since the late 90's. This will be the Eigthteenth edition.

Sorry guys you blew it, and Mike stepped in last year to fill the gap. He put on a great shoot at the Rock and he posted the times of this years shoot months ago. What you are trying to do is split the vendors and attendees. The Fox/Parker challenge is set, so this was not a last minute event, come on!

No you don't "sincerely regret" so why did you decide to try and split the SxS shooters and vendors, you knew what you were doing. There are not that many SxS shoots. Sorry don't buy it.

The Rock Mtn shoot has already been scheduled far in advance. The parker VS Fox challenge is set and can't/won't be rescheduled. A better job of planning would be nice.

Yup, the Rock Mountain shoot was scheduled way far in advance of the shoot date. Scheduling a "Supposed Vintage Cup" on the same weekend is a cheap shot. Or maybe not such a cheap shot. By the way, where was the officially sanctioned Vintage Cup held in 2015?

The Lefever Arms Collectors Association gave Mike and Rock Mountain their word last year that they would continue to exhibit at the September Shoot. The Vintager"s Cup was extinct. There is no question of backing down on our word to Rock Mountain after the effort they have made to put this shoot together in the previously vacated time frame. As I understand it the other collectors groups have honorably done the same. Creating a deliberate atmosphere of ill will suggests to me that the "New Vintager's" has failed to learn from the mistakes that led to the demise of the "Old Vintager's". Splitting what is a finite pool of participants and vendors seems to be a selfish move on the part of the self proclaimed "New Vintager's".

Dr. Bob I really could not have said it better. I just want to know why, they want to divide a relatively small group (SxS shooters) apart. Why are you trying to divide, there where plenty of weekends to choose from (I'm sure antis love this)
