I see that Holts has an auction tomorrow. If you are buying from the USA it's the best exchange rate that I have seen in a while.
Julia's just finished their auction. Some of the India Holland & Holland's brought enormous prices. I thought that I saw where a 4 bore H & H rifle brought $258K!

Holy mackerel! 25% "premium", VAT, then VAT on the premium too! I don't normally buy at auctions so that sure seems high!

I was following ian on the forgotten weapons channel on youtube. He does interesting reviews of interesting firearms, including the holland and holland and rodda 4-bore's. Its worth a watch.

I followed the auction on line and witnessed the Griffnee engraved pair of H&Hs and the pair of Purdey o/us supposedly auctioned, but when I reviewed the "sold" items on Holt's site both of these pairs were marked "unsold".
I'm probably missing something but am nevertheless confused. What happened?
Also, I thought the pair of 12/20 actioned Grants were nice.

Not sure about those pairs. I was in the auction room for the pairs and early sidelock lots, and everything was getting sold under the hammer.
I've not had time to review the web site since I got home.
The 12/20s are such pretty and fine guns.

Probably didn't make the vendor's reserve. Holt's usually then post their unsold lots at the reserve price to sell and take their cut from there. Lagopus.....
