I am new to the forum and was curious about a .22 my dad had. It is a BSA Martini action with a Fecker scope and peep sight also. The barrel is stamped A. O. Niedner Dowiagac Mi. I took off the front stock and it says T. Shelhamer 26. The barrel is stamped 634. Any info or value? Gun is in great shape. Thanks Craig123

The two names are famous gunsmiths. The gun is certainly collectible. I do not personally follow such guns, so I couldn't give an estimate of value, much as I would love to own such a gun.

If the gun is in good shape (no corrosion, no damage), with that lineage it is definitely valuable to the collectors of their work, but nobody could give you a quote sight unseen.

I agree. I am going to post pics. Thought there may be a range in price from high to low.

There were a number of different models. Check out this link http://www.airgunspares.com/store/content/87/BSA/ Most Martini actioned B.S.A. rifles start with a 'U' prefix so scroll down the page a bit. John Knibbs holds all the records for B.S.A. and is usually most helpful. The original number with the prefix letter should be somewhere on the gun. Some of the old target rifles with the heavy barrels are extremely accurate and sought after. The above should help in identifying the model and John should be able to supply date made etc. Lagopus.....

Thanks much. The only thing I do Know is that the 634 on the barrel indicates it was made in 1928. I will click the links. Thanks again. Craig123.

There is a single barrel subforum on this forum that will put you in touch with many more collectors of that type of gun. If the moderator does not transfer your thread to the subforum, you may want to restart on that subforum with your original request for information.
