Here are two photos taken after I removed the stock from the acetone soak. Even though the photos are a bit washed out, it can be seen that the original finish has been totally stripped off.




I dont have any big plans to sand off the few nicks, scratches and other character signs. This gun is a 130 year old hardware store gun, a farm Implement. While its not a poorly made clunker its certainly not a high quality London Best gun either. I feel that simply freshening it up and making the gun presentable with its history and character intact is the best course of action. Ill post more photos when Im done refinishing the stock and have it put back together.
