Greetings from Coffee Country!
I've been aware of the DoubleGunShop for awhile now, thanks to friends who hang out here and mention it occasionally on other forums we frequent, but until recently I've had no opportunity to participate here due to a lack of a doublegun or the opportunity to acquire the same. I'm a US citizen whose current country of residence is Colombia, where legal firearms are strictly controlled, to say the least. Our local gun club sold the property where we were a couple years ago and we've been looking ever since for a place where we can shoot something more than pistols at 25/50 yards. We're putting in an offer to acquire a suitable range site and if that becomes a reality then I'll be doing my best to scare up a good double to use there, plans being to build Skeet, Trap and Sporting Clays ranges. I've been asking around to see what's available and the main issue is finding one with transferable papers as the red tape is tremendous even among those of us who belong to the national shooting and hunting federation. My preference is for a side by side with double triggers (exposed hammers would be a plus) but what is most common are overunders and most of those seem to have single triggers.
Anyway, one transferable 12 bore showed up recently, it's a J. J. Sarasqueta Viuda e Hijos bored * and *** (that'd be full and modified, if I'm not mistaken) This brand is not known to me so I'm curious if you folk might know anything about it. It is NOT Victor Sarasqueta nor Felix Sarasqueta, it's JJ Sarasqueta Viuda e Hijos. So far I've not seen the shotgun itself, just pictures, nor do I have any pictures available to me yet so as to share them with you. At this point I'm just digging for info on the brand, mostly to know if it's something that one should stay away from or if they are decent shotguns for light use (the cost of ammo and targets being high enough it's not likely to be heavily used by yours truly down here).
Thanks for any input on this brand. I look forward to learning from you folk.
