This is my Perrins 12 bore, 1875 - 1887. It also has a choked right hand, shortish barrels - I was told it was probably built as a driven grouse gun - works OK on the pheasants and partridges as well. Handles and balances really well makes a great sound with black powder.

I received my eagerly anticipated packet from London today! A big thanks to Mr. Pratt at Holland's for his patient assistance! My double, number 1217 was made in 1866 for a Mr. Jones as a "new double barrel breach loader back action central fire" with a stock bend of 14 5/8", 2 1/4"x 1 1/2"x 1/6". And what appears to read built "on patent of 61". I find it interesting that it was noted as a "central" fire instead of the common term of center fire today. And I bought this beauty in her sesquicentennial year! smile
