Made in Spain. Local gun shop has one- 28" with ventilated rib, choke tubes, extractors, single trigger- Thinking casually about buying it for the once a year DU Sponsor SC shoot-not a true O/U man, nor serious about SC- as I am about shotgunning practice on barn pigeons and crows- How reliable are these low end guns? Is the single trigger mechanical or recoil operated? Are the choke tubes stainless steel-older Spanish made shotguns had reputations for poor metallurgy-how about this? Hmmm. I thought they were made in Brazil or possibly Turkey.

The ones I have seen have been Turkish made, and beside being heavy, functioned okay. I have a friend with one that the ejectors do not work and another has one that the ejectors "pop" but actually throw the empties clear of the chamber. The triggers are recoil operated, have a heavy pull and is full of creep. The checkering is pressed into the wood. They feel very clunky and heavy when swinging. The choke tubes are stainless but replacements are available.

Hi, my son's first "bought" shotgun was an O/U Youth model Condor. Made in Turkey, very basic, but a scaled 20ga. Perhaps we got the odd one, but his never failed him, bbl regulation was spot on, no problems with the ST, tubes were true to choke. He in fact loved it. Even wrote a short story in school about when he shot his first bird with it. Nothing fancy, it worked for him.

I have heard both sides of the fence on this gun, either a dog or a good plain O/U.

Just my 2c on the subject.

Yes- it is made in Brazil- like all O/U's I have ever handled, it feels like a 2x4 in my hands, on edge-- But I tried the trigger with snap caps, it is mechanical, about 5 lbs. on my spring gauge- like many "lower tiered" trade-ins, with choke tubes, only the two that are in it come in the deal ($325.00 out-the-door) bottom tube mikes IC on my Galazan gauge, top barrel reads full- the test will be when I go back, to see if both tubes will thread off, and if the threads both on the barrel(s) id(s) and those on the tubes OD's are not boogered. I'll save my Smiths for live birdies- barn pigeons, tower pheasants- etc. I want a "beater" that if someone steals it from the gun racks by the clubhouse, while I'm in doing what DU Sponsors do, I'm not out a finer gun, and the insurance hassles-I can afford to lose $325- although I don't wish to. My Smiths would be very hard to replace today-- RWTF

I'd buy a case of B&P 1oz loads and use the Smith.

What DU chapter you in? I go to Manistee, TC, and Saginaw, events. mostly I see pumps and jammomatics at the shoots.

You could buy some tickets and win an O/U at a banquet as well.
But I'd borrow an O/U before I spent $350 on a Condor.

I did that two years ago- I have a friend from the Pheasant Hunting Club, and he loaned me his 12 gauge Rizzini-the L.L. Bean series- I broke 44/50 with it, just used the tubes he had in it when I picked it up at his home. Now is son in Milwaukee has it. We had a Snow-event recently-had 3 DU National guns, A Beretta Explora.A Howa BA .22-250 camo varmint rifle, and a Springfield Armory 1911=A-1 .45 ACP stainless cased with two magazines- I bought three tickets for $20.00- we sold over 1300 tickets, first one drawn got first pick- I was third one drawn, and the only DU gun left was the 1911-A-1, so I kept it. Not much for clays, but it has been a while since I won any gun at a DU function. My Mossy-Burger 835 Ulti-Mag with choke tubes, I won that at a PF Banquet about 9 years ago-when they were first in black and not camo--great Goose gun.

Shot a round of SC's with a young novice shooter who had a "Sporting" version of the Stoeger last weekend. It had poor dynamics and misfired on the bottom barrel about 25 or 30 times.
