I just received a catalog from Connecticut Shotgun that has a Christian Hunter drop plate shotgun on the cover. I am comfortable with box lock, side lock, and drop lock guns but I do not familiar with a drop plate shotgun.
The cover of the catalog shows what I believe to be the drop plate but there is no information concerning the function of the drop plate, Obviously it provides an opening to the mechanics of the gun but if there are no locks that drop out it seems, to the uninformed, unnecessary.
I guess I need an education.
