Although it's a bit over an hour's drive, head over to Springfield for a visit to Bass Pro Shop. The Fine Gun Room is well worth the visit let alone rest of the store.

If you go as far as Springfield, you might as well drive another 10 miles to Ozark and visit Nick Tooth's store, Elephant and Castle. Not as big, but worth a look.
Elephant & Castle Fine Arms 303 E. Elm St. Ozark MO 417 581-4570

Gordon- If your passion is double guns, then you might consider that less than an hour south of Joplin, Mo, is Bentonville Arkansas, the home of Hogs Breath. I got to see and handle a lot of neat side by sides there when I visited a few months ago. See my earlier post on my visit: http://www.doublegunshop.com/forums/ubbt...=true#Post26326

If you have the time while at Bass Pro, enjoy lunch or dinner at Hemingway's upstairs in the store. Their evening buffet is excellent. Also, just south of Ozark, and just north of Branson, is the Ozark Shooters Sports Complex. If you enjoy sporting clays, it's a solid course that will test your shooting skills. A lesson with Bill Howell is a good investment as well.
