It might just be me but it seems like too many threads degenerate into peeing contest these days. It's like having two ten year old kids on the back seat of a car, on a ten hour drive, bickering are we there yet or he's breathing on me type stuff. Maybe it's the end of hunting season, cabin fever or lack of roughage.
So I am going to take a break for two or three month so I don't make it worse. Maybe we all need to take several deep breaths. This was susposed to be about sharing information and exchanges between people with a common interest. It's just not that informative anymore with the constant sidebars, back biting and arguments makes it like a job I would not keep. So until later I wish all of you good luck and hope it gets better for those who hang in there.

Jon, I have to agree with you. I look just about every day sometimes twice and lately it is exactly like you stated. This was a great place in the past to learn about different double guns, most of the contributors were very helpful and I don't remember any bickering.
I hope it does change and the only way it can is with everyone policing themselves in their posts.
This was a great site and hope that it will be again, such a diversified group of knowledgeable people.

I got lambasted in one of my earliest posts here for having the temerity to ask a question that I did not know had been asked a hundred times before. Insults and bickering are nothing new here, and they were going on long before I was registered on this site. This was a great place in the past to learn about different double guns, most of the contributors were very helpful and I don't remember any bickering. Uh, sorry to disagree JDW, and when this subject has come up I have posted numerous links to old threads proving my contention. Here's a nice one that appeared here in post #264074 on 2/5/12 in the main forum where Last Dollar used an ethnic slur and called Jim a WOP: http://www.doublegunshop.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=265152&page=7Then there is this long name calling and insult hurling thread entitled "Beware of James Legg" that appeared here on 8/15/08: http://www.doublegunshop.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=107486&page=4It ain't nothing new. The ugliest of it is the dishonesty and insults that are frequently veiled under a thin veneer of faux civility. Sticks and Stones isn't half as bad or dangerous as Anti-Gun Trolling and support for the Anti-Gunners that threaten our right to even keep and bear arms. I've gained a lot of doublegun knowledge by simply taking the other stuff as free entertainment. The best part is that no one forces me to read or accept anything.

Keith, yes there was some back then but now the bickering keeps on and on. If I wanted to hear that I could go find a political job.
Where are the good informative posts that used to be on here?
I refer back to your comment on pipe smoking, hunting boots and I'll add, How many from Ark, Mo, etc.
Let's get back to the old Double Gun BBS.
