I think the Westley Richards label is quite appropriate for a pair of H&Rs. They could have possibly been made, either partially or completely, by WR.

The case was originally made by/ for , a WR pair - and if I fail to locate a period correct H&R label, I feel that it's the best substitute I could find. At least there is a direct relationship between the two makers concerning the guns that will now reside in the old case. If anyone can steer me to a ~ 1885 era H&R label, I would be forever grateful!

The result is beautiful. Is there a less expensive high quality alternative to Huey if a case has to be recovered?

Looks great!

Is always amazes me how beat up these cases get, even for their age.

There's usually a high end shotgun inside.

Upon further examination, it appears that the original owner of the case ( re the original W.R. Label inside) was Lt. Col. R. L. Baker BT, who was one of the commanders of the 10th Calvary Brigade ( Briish Indian Army) in 1917 - stationed in Gaza, Palestine and Egypt after being reorganized due to heavy losses sustained at Scimitar Hill at Gallipoli.

Looks like the case is probably not " era correct" for the old H&R set, but it's still nice
to be able to salvage a connection to such a storied piece of History!

Best regards,
JBP
