In my opinion, only when the states start looking at banning lead rifle and pistol bullets will enough hunters finally sound off and say enough to this bogus science.
That's why I believe the Wisconsin Natural Resources Board went after lead shot on DNR land in their proposal rather than lead bullets, although the danger to eagles appears to come from bullet fragments and not from lead shot. Stirring up bird hunters in states like MN, WI or PA is one thing. We're sort of the low hanging fruit. Getting the deer hunters upset is an entirely different story. I'm pretty sure they'll make enough noise that the politicians will listen.
