I just got a Merkel 200E and would like to remove the ejectors for cleaning. Do I just remove the screws that are keeping them from coming out, or is there anything else I should do? Don't want to mess up my new toy.
Thanks,
Jeff

Take the wood off. If they are Southgate, you take the two big springs out. then the pin that holds the kickers. Keep the parts on the side they came off of.

if there not visibly a mess don't take them apart just clean and lightly oil.very small amount of oil, put the wood back, if there working and not dirty don't take them apart

Thanks for the responses. It's an O/U, so it does not have Southgate ejectors. There are no parts in the fore end. I just lubed them up and they seem to be okay. Thanks,
Jeff

By all means remove the retaining screws but do take note that they under spring tension and do have habit of flying out unexpectedly . If doing so the barrels need to be held firmly in a well padded vice and the extractors pushed in to take the pressure of the screws until they have been removed and then released slowly .The opposite on reassembly .

Gunman,Thanks for your reply. Now I need to grind down some screwdriver bits to work on this Merkel. These are really skinny slots.
