Does this gun use a variation, i.e. top lever, of the F.J Abbey, James H. Foster US Patent 114081 of 1871 ( also given Provisional Protection in the UK under E.C.Green's name)?
I am referring in particular to the "scissor-like" lockup of the top rib extension as seen in the bottom photo.
Is this a common feature of Daly guns? During what time periods? Do you know what other manufacturers used this system in the UK and on the Continent, even if they were built for retailers?
Forgive me, because I am ignorant about the S,D,&G and the midwest gun trade in general.
