Dear Sir,


Thank you for your enquiry. Unfortunately your serial no. (13104) does not
appear in the G.E. Lewis Registers that we own, and we are therefore unable to
assist with your enquiry. Lower numbers are from
older guns, but the date of sale could be much later. For example, serial
nos. 13103 and 13108 were both sold in 1913; 13102 in 1918 and 13109 in
1912. Your serial no. does not appear in the index at all.

It is possible that the ledgers only record the sale of serial nos. which
were assigned to G.E. Lewis guns, and not other manufacturers they
retailed, which would explain why yours is absent.

I just sent off an inquiry regarding a GE Lewis shotgun after digging around and finding this old thread. I hope the Armory still hold the records.

Yes the library at the Royal Armouries in Leeds, UK, still have the records. I am sure they will remain there for the foreseeable future.

Yes, they do. For 10 pounds, I received a nice copy of the ledger entries for my G.E. Lewis & Sons, right down to the ship bringing it to Nova Scotia!
