Thanks. It is getting more popular, as I understand it, to use sit-atop kayaks for ducks. Recently read a piece by a young outdoor writer in NC named Taylor Pardue in which he mentions using them. I can carry a few dekes in mine, lunch, necessary stuff. I have had it nearly twenty years I guess. It has no name that I know of. They were built one at a time by a fellow down around Lake Okeechobee, FL, IIRC. I think it was about $400 at the time. It's fiberglass with a gel coat that I painted over to help camo it a little better. It's about 12 ft. long, but can't weigh over 35 lbs. When I snap the two halves of the paddle together I can really make it scoot. Hardest part about getting a drift organized is getting somebody to help me leave my truck at a downstream landing and then take me upstream to another landing to put in. Worth the trouble, tho'.
