I would just ask the dealer you are used to using if he's shipped to CA. Some haven't and just won't. It says as much about them as it does about CA.
Many just don't consider it a big deal and want your business. Some make it a big deal, and don't, apparently, want you as a customer.
More a personality issue than a real problem, IMO. And I get most of my guns guns from out of state.
If I sound a little peevy about this, it's because I don't like out-of-state gun dealers helping our legislature deny us our rights. They DO have the right to refuse us as customers. But little reason, IMO.
