Opinions requested on the reliability of the American-designed "Infallible" single trigger, factory installed on an English SXS? Obviously reliability depends on service history, lubrication, cleanliness, etc.

I have one on a Parker VH. Has worked fine on the few occasions I have hunted with that gun.

I have 2 LC Smiths with infallible triggers. Actually bird hunted yesterday with my 20ga field grade. They are as good as any single trigger I've shot. The only complaint I have is that the barrel selector does not automatically reset after each shot. In other words if you shoot the right barrel first and reload you have to reset the selector to shoot the right barrel first or it will shoot the left barrel first after you close the gun. My 12 is choked the same in both barrels so it doesn't matter, but my 20 is IC / M.

I have an original catalog I'll take pictures of and post.

Not likely it was factory original on any gun, but as always never say "never"

In my opinion, the Infallible trigger is nice in two ways. The trigger itself is a self contained unit inserted into the trigger plate. It operates fully whether it is installed in a gun or not. And, the location of the selector, for a right hand shooter at least, is awsome. What better place for quick and safe selection of the barrel you want to shoot.

By looking at this photo, it looks like a nightmare if something goes wrong with it.

I still like the Miller or HOT trigger.
The first type Miller selector is the way they all should be done, on the safety like the 3 position safety, forward right barrel all the way rearward left barrel.

I shot my Infallible trigger VH Parker Burt Becker inspired pigeon gun this week, only 50 birds, but it worked great. I have Infallible guns in DH Parker, VH Parker, Prussian Daly hammer gun, and another DH Parker. They all work great. You have to pay attention while you are shooting, but the trigger is not at fault if you fail to check the selector. Pigeon shooters always have a full gun, so there is no problem.
