I finally got time to do a simulated installation of the sight on a M70. This rifle was re-barreled about 25 years ago for hunting in africa. It is a 1950 era magnum action with a Kreiger 35 cal barrel. It is a custom wildcat called a 35 Zimmerman. It is similar to the 358 STA and can push a 250 gr bullet past 3000fps. It uses a 375 case necked down and blown out. It sported a scope until today. I will also need to add a front sight as part of this project.
I still need to turn up the pivot pin and hope to do that tomorrow
