The springs in these are several turns shorter than a standard 98 but otherwise the same as far as I can tell. If I cut down a new 98 spring to the correct number of turns and grind the end flat will this work, or will I need to anneal an end and shape it like the original ??Shortening a coil spring increases the tension the spring develops when compressed.
