One of the most important needs for anyone who reloads is not just current reloading information but is a good set of powder scales. I know hundreds of reloader who trust the charts to tell them which bushing to load. I don't know when the last bushing dropped the expected weight of powder. 1970 sometime I think. If it's not published I don't use the recepie. Word of mouth is fine for a starting point but I just want to see it in writing.

One of the many reasons I still reload is to match load, shot size and pressure to gun and bird I am shooting. I have tens of thousands of once fired empties, two dozen different wads, five different primers, five different sizes and three different types of shot and a dozen different powders. Is it a lot? Yes. But I reload six different gauges, four different shell lengths for at least half a dozen different different game and clay target needs. If I kept four boxes of factory shells for each of my needs I'd have a better selection than the local Cabellas. In fact if they had a decent selection I would not need to reload at all.

Plus I can still reload for less than most factory bought shells. You get more bang for your buck. And my wife sees empties as so much plastic stuff I accumulate while see sees new loaded factory shells as dangerous explosives which should be disposed of asap. Which I am happy to do.
