Here's the latest rumor. According to this add on GunsAmerica, 28ga and .410ga. barrels will be available for the current guns in the future.
Anyone have an insight as to where this came from? Is there a grain of truth to it?

The ad also says that production ceased on December 06. I'd say he hasn't a clue about RBL's. (But, I'd buy the barrels for my RBL if they became available!)

I attended the National Classic Shotgun Festival at Northbrook last month. I asked Lou what was next for the RBL, and he coyly replied "maybe nothing".

He indicated that they expect to have all remaining orders filled within the next year. No hint of extra barrels, and I doubt that anything will be forthcoming until existing orders are filled.

I'll call BULL-S**T when I hear and see it! Unless someone has more concrete information.

I spoke with Tony Galazan back in April at the Tulsa show and asked him direct about future plans for the RBL. All he would say was that they were concentrating on filling the current orders and had not made any plans for the RBL's future.

This is nothing more than a sales gimmic. Look at the asking price for a gun that doesn't have all the options.

I say good luck to the seller and my sympathy to the buyer if he pay's the price.

With that said: I'll be one of the first in line for the 28ga barrels for mine when I see them offered on Galazans web site rather than the rumor mill.

Like we say at work about rumor's: I'll only believe it when I see it, and then only 50% of that!

The guy dosen't say the barrels will be available from Galazan. Possible another aftermarket vendor could do this.

It begs the question, WHY? Seems like an exercise in futility. This is not a skeet gun... there is no need to shoot a 28 ga or 410 shell. It is so simple to load a 20 to 3/4oz, it just boggles my little mind why anyone whould mess around with 28ga guns on 20ga frames and pay the extra ammunition cost.

I just don't understand...

Probably the same guy who was trying to sell a Gold Label last week for $4K with similar language...

Well, I've got such a gun, but I've never bought a box of factory 28's.

But now that you mention it, it boggles my mind why skeeters pay hundreds of $$$ for a set of barrels or tubes to make a 28ga feel just like their 12, then pay the premium for 28ga shells to break clays with 3/4 ounce of shot....why not 3/4 ounce loads in the 12ga shell? Heck, if the manufacturers were motivated, they could even load 1/2 ounce 12ga shells and obviate the 410. The whole game of skeet is predicated on different payloads; instead of 4 guns all you need is 4 different 12ga shells.

The sad truth is....all the above is true. Alas, where will all the elitist 28 ga. group go when the 12s do the same? Jake

To stay on the topic at hand I would say that there is not a shred of truth to this rumor.

I have had several dealings with CSMC including a model 21 order. I can say one thing for sure Tony is in the gun business to make and sell guns. I highly doubt he would offer barrels to the prior RBL customers. That would be a nightmare. The first run of guns has already been a real strain on CSMC.

Secondly why would CSMC offer barrels when there would be a line of customers 10 miles long waiting to get their hands on a 28 gauge RBL? Sell guns not barrels.

Last, one source who works at CSMC told me there is no way in hell they are going to sell other gauge barrels for the old RBL orders.
