I have always used the lace-on, preferring to leave the pad on there semi-permanently. And, I must admit to having a bit of distaste for velcro on a nice classic double, effective as it is. But, I am beginning to have second thoughts about all that. One of my guns that has carried a lace-on for the longest is beginning to show a line of demarcation where the stock color changes slightly. I believe it to be from the leather blocking sunlight completely, and the bleaching effects of it. So, my next ones will be velcro so that I can more easily remove it after use, or for long term inactivity. Maybe I can ignore those bad vibes about velcro.
