Son No. 1 has a beater Ithaca SxS which is missing the rear tang screw. I know just barely enough about double shotguns to pick one out of a crowd so I cannot tell you much more than that. I can supply pictures if needed; please be specific about which areas. I cruised through Numrich but, without knowing which model, it was a mystery. Any suggestions are appreciated.

There's defiantly a lot of loose screws hanging around here...

You're gonna have to give more information, either the model or the thread size, pitch, screw length, head dimensions.
Get the serial number from the bottom of the barrels or frame, look up this number in the list at the link below "Other Useful Information ". That should get you to a model and date of mfr.

I would go to the local hardware store and buy one each of the ones that look like they would fit. When you find it turn the head to size (drill and file) then cut it to length and touch it up so it does not stick out. Your home made head will be burried under the trigger guard. My memory (old) says it is a common thread.

Thank you Chuck! Got me to the root of the problem: I didn't know the difference between a Flues, Crass and Manier. Turns out it's a 1903 Crass; s/n: 82072. Numrich shows the stock tang screw as Sold Out but at least I now know what I seek. Cheers, Hoot

If you look on gunbrokers they often have old receivers for sale. Find one and buy it or just pm the seller asking him if he will list just the screw you want at an agreed buy it now price. I've bought parts like that there before. Sometimes they have a reciever listed for two years for sale with no interest. They will part it out sometimes if you ask.
You might get lucky on eBay but the screw will not be on an old receiver so you can't be as sure what you are buying. Sometimes you can come across a gun being parted out and know what it fits. I've bought a lot of Remington model 12, Baker, Fox and Lefever parts that way.
