The Model 700 is one of the most reliable guns to ever come out of Birmingham. I own several and have found them to be almost bulletproof. You might be interested to know that several studies have shown shooting 2 3/4" ammunition in short chambered guns has not significantly raised pressures. I always shoot the longer ammunition in my short chambered guns (thousands of rounds) without any problems or signs of problems. Obviously, avoid shooting heavy loads in that lightweight gun.
