Has anybody heard of T.Altham & Son shotguns. It is a 12 gauge SXS double,nitro proofed.

Being marked Penrith, it surely must sport a Prince of Wales grip, as that town is in Wales,lol
Probably made by someone in Birmingham who put Althams name on it, that happened a good bit....pictures would help big time to help clue the real maker, if it was made by another

hello,
It is of no help regarding the name, but Penrith is not in Wales.It is in cumbria (formerly cumberland) north west, England. This may help re search.

I have no listing ,so I suspect that it was an iron monger/farm supplier or local department store or similar that retailed a few guns as happened in many rural market towns .

please excuse my error, I was born in Yeovil Somerset, &n I was sure that name sounded Welsh, thanks for the correction.Also sounds Cornish to me...my geography was never great either

Just Google T Altham Penrith .They were a building supply and iron monger business .Several articles about them .

On the outskirts of Penrith is Lowther Castle. Every year they host horse and carriage trials, as part of a popular country show.
In the town itself is John Norris retail outlet, a well known fishing and country store. The town sits aside the M6 north/south motorway and is a port of call for many heading to Scotland to shoot or fish.
