Actually, there were two late night calls, from two different people, about two different .410s. One call was to ask a favor. A friend a couple of states to the south had been asked to inspect and appraise a .410 for someone who apparently lived closer to me than to my friend. He asked if I would give the guy a call. I did that, finding that this fellow lived about five blocks from where I was working at the time in Bethesda, MD. I visited, wrote the appraisal at no cost because of the entertainment value. Not too long afterward, the gentleman called and asked if I would be interested in purchasing the little .410 VHE Skeet for somewhat less than my apparently fair appraisal. He had shopped it around, had a backup appraisal done at Butterfields, and decided I needed a new skeet gun. End of story.

Great story. I'm glad you shared. Any pictures of the little beauty?
