Hello all!

I have a Parker Gun I got from my family that I was wondering what it is and the value of if any of you could help! (I posted on gunbroker.com and a friendly poster sent me here!)

Parker serial # 84269 was made in 1896 according to what I found online. It is GH grade I think?

There are slight pings on the barrel that I would assume could be taken out pretty easy. All in all it seems to be in great shape.

Here are some pictures, and thanks for the help/ advice/ appraisal info!

Any info would be great, I don't know anything about this gun or where it sits in the Parker line!

I don't intend on selling it, just curious as to what I have!

It's not in the Serial book so there's no quick record of what it should be. Is it a 12 gauge? It looks like a G but could be an E grade if it is a 10 gauge, etc.

Overall looks like a nice gun. Not 'great' shape but nice.

Looks like a well worn, but honest, unmessed with gun. If it is a 12-gauge, it is one of the most common Parker Bros. models with over 22,000 built. If it were in 14-, 20-, or 28-gauge it would be pretty rare.

110 years old and what appear to be unturned screws-amazing and very nice! It could no doubt benefit from an EXPERT check and clean-let us know what part of the country you're from and we might be able to recomend someone near you. And this great old gun deserves the best. What a wonderful legacy and congratulations!

Looks like a GH. You probably already know this but don't do any harsh cleaning of surfaces that will remove the patina of age. If you do the value will plummet. Your gun is worth several thousand dollars as is.

Thanks for the info so far all!

In response to what has been put here so far ...

1. Is there a place on it where the grade is stamped?
2. I don't have any shells with it .. I assume it is a 12-gauge ..
3. Thanks for the congrats! It doesn't look like the screws have ever been turned! I am in Los Angeles, so if anyone knows an expert around here ...
4. I won't clean it! Thanks for the advice!

Take some clear pictures(with the barrels off) of the stampings on the frame under the barrels and the stampings on the bottom of the barrel flats. That will tell a lot.

Couldn't do better west of the Rockies than:
Freddie Brunner

Pete Mazur, Grass Valley, CA 530-268-2412

Keith Kearcher in Bend Oregon could take care of your Parker.
Keith can remove those barrel dents and other issues the gun may have.
JMHO.
