Fujikoshi Special Deluxe;

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=515508013

So just out of curiosity, does anyone know who made this? I assume it would most likely be be Nikko/Kodensha, Miroku or SKB?

It is rare that I Google a shotgun and can't find anything on it...This one is just such an odd bird with the engraving and ivory.

Interesting weapon of very nice quality, The action is shallow and nicely shaped. The bolting system is probably not unlike what Perazzi uses. It's nice to see something other than Sakaba or Japanese copy of Browning under-bolt design (Olin-Kodensha as in "Golden Eagle" or B.C. Miroku as in Citori or Charles Daly). The only real downside is spare parts are made of unobtainium.
Custom enhancements indicate that it was someones prized possession.

What's the situation with ivory these days? Thought POTUS outlawed all sales of ivory, no matter how old, no matter what. Did I miss a step somewhere?

Looks like that has been modified 40 or more years ago. The owner probably also had Winslow Mauser in .300WeaMag. wink

Jagermeister, agree it appears to be well designed and put together. Think it would be a fun trap single.

Tudurgs, I just took a gun into Cabela's for appraisal and they were concerned the sight bead was made of ivory. If so, they indicated they would not purchase. Not sure how many follow that practice and the overall legality of it though.

Any of you recognize the squirrel?
Another Japanese brand used the same engraving pattern.

I owned a similar Japanese single barrel gun in 20 ga. that was a bit earlier than this one, had the general lines of a Greener but with no side-safety (a tang, like your's). I had somebody translate the markings, and it was a very early Miroku.

GG, sounds like the only way to find out what it is would be to buy it.

Shame I am not in the market for an exotic Japanese trap gun at the moment.

Get me a photo of any Japanese characters that are on it, and I will have it translated for you.
