OP OBXEJC Boxlock Joined: Sep 2014 Posts: 17 Virginia	I recently acquired a Paul Jaeger rifle in 22-250 with a 8x Unertl. The receiver is FN made in Belgium 1950 and the stock was made by Fritz Voight in 1951. The barrel has a J in a circle mark on it. Does anyone know what this mark means? Maker?

You might want to contact retired gunsmith Dietrich Apel, the founder of New England Custom Guns, who is Paul Jaeger's nephew and who worked with him when first immigrating to this country.

OP OBXEJC Boxlock Joined: Sep 2014 Posts: 17 Virginia	I've talked to Mr. Apel last year about another rifle and he's really up in age and was having trouble using the computer so he told me. You're probably right about the proof mark since the serial number is stamped right there also.
