Hey Sam, Just look upon it as a bright spot in the otherwise dark world of fine guns. Just look upon it as a bright spot in the otherwise dark world of fine guns. But I repeat myself.

LOL Steve

Hmm. So that's what a good restoration should look like?

The sad thing is that it's possible someone did those things thinking it may increase the gun's resale value.

I prefer wood to plastic, leather to nylon, waxed cotton to Gore-Tex, and split bamboo to graphite.

Or they just might have liked the way it looks lots of french grey receivers out there. Model 21's with full beaver tail forends, and high combs in light birdseye maple , everyone has different tastes.

I have a French 16ga that was plated, action and barrels said to have come off of a ocean liner and was used to shoot clays off the fantail, plating to protect it from the salt air. The barrrels have been polished so often the only plating left is under the forend.

After the first shot the rest are just noise.

Forget that is is a Parker and may have had some resale value in its original state, it looks very similar to the modern European guns that I see on the gun store shelves.
Not what I would have in my gun room but perhaps a nice entry level gun.

Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
