My Mom. Under the tree at Christmas, reliable as the sun rising up in the east. When I was a kid, she always pointed out that if I ended up in the hospital or the morgue, she would be blamed as a bad Mother, for not teaching me any better, if I was wearing crummy clothes.
She bought me my first shotgun, an Italian folding 12 gauge hammerless single shot, when I was 14.
She is the best Mom on earth, and I will have decent undies on if I end up at either of the above, per her instruction. Unless I'm under the car working, but, she always asks if I need new coveralls, and my old pair is good enough, mostly.
The lesson of shame is lost on quite a few kids there days.
