Will a barrel from a steel receiver gun interchange with the alloy receiver gun?

The Aeromet receiver Model 31s were only made after WW-II in the 1941 version. You will need a barrel from a steel receiver 1941 version Model 31. Some fitting my still be required. It would take an excessive amount of work to fit a barrel from a 1931 or 1934 version Model 31 to a 1941 version receiver.

They should if the receivers were made at about the same time. Alloy receiver guns had steel liner to accept barrel threading. The two with alloy receivers I owned were made in late 1940s.

I don't remember how the serial numbers run by year, but you can check the date code on the barrel itself. The Remington website has a chart with an explanation of the date codes.

Serial numbers in the 528xxx range would be from the December 1939 / January 1940 time frame, so would be a 1934 version gun. Not a good choice to try and fit to a 1941 version.
