I have noticed a small crack at the wrist of my favorite 20 ga. Browning O/U clays gun. It still shoots fine, and doesn't seem to flex, but the crack extends from the right tang near the safety down to the trigger guard, and I am afraid of what will happen in the future. Is it usually more cost effective to have it repaired vs. replaced, and if so, could anyone recommend someone that does nice work ?

Salopian is correct. Much easier to repair it before it breaks into splinters. I repaired my cracked stock myself using bamboo re-enforcing rods and epoxy for an invisible and strong fix. It does require that you get all oil out of the wood before gluing. There have been some good posts on this subject in the past. David

Rick,
Whatever you do to address the cracking, whether repair or replace, I highly recommend you get the recoil lug area glass bedded. On these types of guns, having that recoil lug area bedded with epoxy/glass goes a long way in preventing cracks. Just my two cents.
